It’s time for the Dad’s Annual Cook-Off! With such fine cooks in our midst, it would be a shame to keep this tasty event to ourselves. This fundraiser is open to everyone. Please make sure and spread the word to family and friends; all are welcome. This year we decided to give everyone the opportunity to work up an appetite by adding a beach volleyball tournament to the mix (see details below). Whether you feel like burning some calories before the feast, or just showing up for some fabulous food, this event is for you. Let us handle the cooking, and the clean-up. You bring your taste buds, and don’t forget to vote for your favorite cook!
August 10th, 2024 Volleyball team check-in begins at 8am games start at 9am – Cook-Off starts serving food at 1pm
Tournament details –
- Game day check-in begins at 8am on August 10th at the Bulldogs Field House (151 S. Garfield Rd., Traverse City)
- We have a 12 team limit (so round-up your co-ed team and sign up by texting Greg @ (231)944-0662 right away (You will get a response text verifying your registration.)
- Teams need to consist of at least 3 guys and 3 girls (with 3 girls on the court at all times if using subs – we will be playing on ladies nets)
- A Team entry fee of $100 will be collected on the day of the tournament (includes 7 meal bands to the Dad Cook-Off – a $70 value)
- Pool play (1 match of 2 games against each team in your pool, play goes to 21-win by 2-with a 23 point cap)
- Top 3 teams out of each pool compete in bracket play (single elimination, 2 games to 21-win by 2-with a 23 point cap, tie breaker to 15-win by 2-with a 17 point cap, best 2 out of 3 advances)
Dad Cook-Off details –
- Cook-Off begins serving food at 1pm at the Bulldogs Field House (151 S. Garfield Rd., Traverse City)
- The Dads of our Girl’s JV and Varsity Volleyball players show off their culinary skill and compete for votes at their food tables
- Meal bands are $10 for adults, $5 for kids 12-5 years old, and children 4 and under are free (all you can eat)
- One voting ticket is provided with each meal band to vote for your favorite cook (additional voting tickets can be purchased to insure your favorite cook wins)
Come and join us for some friendly competition and great food. All the money we raise from this event goes to the Bulldogs Girls’ Volleyball Program. We have already raised for one net system and are raising additional funds for: a second net system, scholarship fund to cover player’s fees for those that need assistance, personalized items for players, team building group events, and a gymnasium fund (some funds may be used for additional Bulldogs sports teams).
